FAQ

  • I offer individual therapy for personal mental health support, as well as family therapy to help address family dynamics and conflicts. I also provide parent coaching to guide parents in supporting their children, especially when an eating disorder is involved.

In addition, my specialties include IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), food freedom and eating disorder recovery, and therapy for perfectionism and self-criticism. All services are available virtually across Indiana and in-person.

  • If you find yourself struggling with perfectionism, constant self-criticism, food and body image challenges, or feeling stuck in cycles of burnout, therapy can make a meaningful difference. My approach combines IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR therapy, which offer both practical tools for daily life and deeper healing work to address the root causes of your struggles.

Many of my clients come to counseling after trying to push through on their own, only to feel more drained. Through our work together, you’ll learn how to release all-or-nothing cycles, build self-compassion, and move toward greater balance, peace, and freedom.

  • Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs. You can expect a mix of gentle exploration through IFS, evidence-based processing with EMDR, and practical tools you can use in daily life.

I move at the pace that feels right for you — never pushing, always guiding with curiosity and compassion. Some sessions may focus on building skills for handling perfectionism, food struggles, or self-criticism in the moment, while others may go deeper into healing patterns that have been with you for years.

My role is to come alongside you—not to tell you who to be, but to create a safe, supportive space where we do the deeper work together when you’re ready. Over time, this balance of practical tools and deeper healing helps clients experience greater self-compassion, food freedom, and lasting change.

  • The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some clients find meaningful relief after just a few months, while others benefit from ongoing, longer-term support. With IFS and EMDR therapy, many people notice shifts more quickly than with traditional talk therapy because we’re not just talking about the problem — we’re working directly with the patterns, parts, and beliefs that keep you feeling stuck.

I’ll always move at a pace that feels right for you. Some seasons of life may call for shorter, solution-focused work, while others require more space for deeper healing. Either way, our sessions are about building progress you can feel and changes that last.

  • I am an out-of-network provider with most insurance plans. This means that while I don’t bill insurance directly, there are still ways to use your benefits:

    • I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

    • If you’d like, I can also submit claims on your behalf to go toward your out-of-network benefits.

    • I also accept HSA and FSA cards, which many clients find convenient for covering session costs.

Many clients are surprised to learn how much their insurance will still reimburse for IFS therapy, EMDR, eating disorder recovery, or counseling for perfectionism under out-of-network benefits. I’ll guide you through the process so it feels as simple and stress-free as possible.

  • Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum and allows us to make steady progress. Over time, as you feel stronger and more grounded, we may shift to biweekly or monthly check-ins.

The frequency depends on your goals and your unique journey. For example, clients working on eating disorder recovery or intense perfectionism cycles may benefit from weekly support at first. Others may find that a lighter schedule works once the foundation of IFS and EMDR therapy is in place. We’ll always adjust at a pace that feels manageable for you.

  • Yes! I provide secure telehealth counseling for clients anywhere in Indiana. Many clients find that online sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy for IFS, EMDR, food freedom, and perfectionism counseling. Telehealth offers flexibility and comfort — you can meet with me from your own space, without the stress of commuting or rearranging your whole day.

Before your first online session, I’ll walk you step-by-step through how to access the telehealth platform, so you feel confident and comfortable getting started. I also offer phone sessions for clients who prefer to connect by phone rather than video.

  • Therapy is an investment in your well-being and peace of mind. My current rates are clearly listed on the Investment Page so you always know what to expect. Fees reflect the specialized training I bring in IFS therapy, EMDR, eating disorder recovery, food freedom counseling, and perfectionism therapy.

While the financial piece matters, clients often share that the relief, balance, and confidence they gain through this work is priceless compared to the cost of staying stuck in cycles that drain their energy and joy.

  • IFS therapy is one of the most powerful tools I use for perfectionism. It helps you identify and understand the different “parts” of yourself — especially the inner critic or perfectionistic part that insists you always have to perform, achieve, or “get it right.”

The goal isn’t to get rid of your perfectionistic part — in fact, the more we try to push away or silence a part of us, the louder it often gets, because deep down it’s trying to help and protect us. Instead, IFS guides you to get to know this part, understand what it’s trying to do for you, and begin to build a compassionate relationship with it.

When the perfectionistic part feels seen and understood, it usually begins to soften. Over time, this allows it to take on a more supportive role and helps your whole system feel more balanced and at peace. Clients often tell me they feel a sense of relief and freedom as they step out of harsh all-or-nothing cycles and into a more confident, authentic way of living.

  • Absolutely. EMDR therapy is highly effective for clients navigating eating disorder recovery or struggles with food and body image. EMDR helps target and reprocess painful memories, negative beliefs, and body-image triggers that fuel the cycle of disordered eating.

When combined with food freedom therapy and IFS, EMDR provides both deep healing and practical relief. Clients often notice they feel less controlled by old thought patterns and more open to creating a healthier, more peaceful relationship with food, body, and self.Item description

  • Food freedom therapy is about ending the cycle of dieting, shame, and guilt around food. Instead of rigid food rules or swinging between control and “giving up,” this approach helps you trust your body’s cues, reduce shame, and experience more peace with food and body image.

In our work together, we’ll draw from IFS therapy, recovery principles, and self-compassion practices so you can break free from the critic’s voice and the pressure to eat “perfectly.” The goal isn’t just about what you eat — it’s about finding freedom, confidence, and energy to focus on the things that matter most in your life.
