Therapist. Healer. Human.
Your healing matters too.

You’ve held space for others — now it’s time to heal the trauma and food struggles you’ve carried alone.

You’re the one others rely on — the therapist, the healer, the steady presence.

But inside, you’re carrying more than anyone sees.

Maybe it’s food and body struggles. Maybe it’s trauma that never fully cleared.
Maybe it’s both — woven into how you cope, achieve, show up, and keep going.

You wake up already managing so much. And you’re tired of doing it alone.

But what if it didn’t have to be this way?

What if the noise quieted, and you could finally feel at ease — in your body, and in your life?

Healing is possible — even for the ones who help everyone else.

Through IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR (Eye movement desensitization reprocessing) we’ll get to the root — the trauma, the food struggles, the parts still holding it all.

So you can feel at home in your body — and return to your work more present, grounded, and Self-led.

Why keep living like this…

→ You help others regulate their nervous systems — but yours stays stuck in high alert, always bracing for the next wave.

→ Food feels like control… or chaos. You swing between rigidity and release, but neither brings real peace.

→ You wake up already scanning: your body, your to-do list, the emotional weight you’ll carry — again.

→ You teach grounding tools, yet dissociate during meals or shut down when it’s time to rest.

→ You know the signs of trauma — and still, you can’t seem to stop the perfectionism, the overdoing, the pressure to hold it all.

→ You help clients rewrite their stories, but feel trapped in the rules of your own — especially around food and body.

→ You’ve done “the work” — and yet the old beliefs still whisper: you’re too much, you’re not enough, you’re not safe.

→ Being in your body doesn’t feel neutral — it feels triggering, unfamiliar, or simply too much.

→ You keep wondering: How can I be the one struggling when I’m the one helping?

→ You want to feel present and Self-led — not trauma-led, not food-led, not perfection-led — just… you.

Some topics we may discuss in session …

  • → Why you still feel stuck in high alert, even though you’ve taught grounding skills to countless clients.

  • → How the same food/body patterns you help others unravel show up in your own life — just quieter, more hidden, harder to admit.

  • → That part of you who knows all the theory… but still binges, restricts, shuts down, or overfunctions when it gets loud inside.

  • → The subtle ways trauma shaped how you relate to rest, nourishment, visibility, and worth — and how those Parts still run the show.

  • → Why “I know better” doesn’t always help — and how IFS and EMDR get beneath knowing to the parts of you still holding fear, shame, and grief.

  • → What it’s like to lead from your Self — not the fixer, the achiever, or the one who holds it together for everyone else.

  • → The guilt that creeps in when you cancel plans, need help, or feel like you’re the one who’s too much.

  • → The fear of being seen — fully seen — in a body or life that still feels like it should be more “together.”

  • → How to let go of the rulebook — the one you didn’t write — and listen to your own body’s cues, needs, and wisdom.

  • → How to reconnect with the parts of you that feel lost, numb, or buried beneath the pressure to keep it all together.

  • → How to finally give yourself the same deep care, compassion, and presence you offer your clients every single day.

  • → For the believers – explore how faith and therapy can intersect to guide your healing.

  • → What it looks like to truly show up for yourself in the moments when a Part wants to restrict, binge, or disappear.

  • → The tools I use with other clinicians and helpers — practical, trauma-informed, and deeply restorative.

  • → How to honor the pain you’ve lived through — and let it become part of your strength, not your identity.

Meet The Therapist

Hey, I’m Emily Paxton, MA, LMHC, RD.

I’m the one you can be real with.

The parts you’ve kept quiet? The things you’ve been afraid to say out loud? They’re safe here.

As a registered dietitian for 25 years, a therapist for 15, and someone who’s lived through the pressures of perfection, productivity, and body image battles — I get it.

I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to help you finally exhale.
To untangle the trauma, food noise, and self-pressure that’s been guiding your days — and reconnect you with the version of yourself who feels steady, spacious, and whole.

If you’re a therapist, healer, or helper who holds so much for others while quietly wondering, “Why can’t I fix this in myself?” — you’re in the right place.

Using EMDR and IFS, we don’t just talk through your pain — we go to the roots. We work with the Parts of you that are still protecting, performing, or numbing… and offer them the healing they’ve been waiting for.

My faith has been a grounding part of my own journey, and if it feels meaningful to you, I’d be honored to integrate prayer and scripture into our work.
